Our Story

Originally, Carpet Tech was founded by Chet Pharies’ brother, Chad, when he was in high school as a means to pay his way through college at Texas Tech. With a minivan and a small carpet cleaning machine inside, Chad’s business grew and grew until December of 1995, when Chad was diagnosed with terminal cancer at age 23.

As Chad was too ill to continue working, his father sold the minivan to a local fireman while Chet graduated high school and began his college career at Texas Tech, where he accepted a scholarship to play football. Upon Chad’s untimely passing in September of 1996, Chet’s lack of direction led him to quit school and quit football. But, as fate would have it, the fireman who bought Chad’s original minivan called and offered Chet a chance to buy it back from him. He leaped at the opportunity and, as a result, Carpet Tech was officially reborn in 1996.

In the beginning, Chet had no intention to grow his business, as it was primarily a means of keeping himself busy. But then he began to dream. Chad built Carpet Tech on honesty, integrity, and excellent customer service; Chet’s new mission became finishing what his brother started by using his original vision as a foundation for what Carpet Tech would ultimately become. So, to continue his legacy, Chet began pushing, selling, and using all of his energy to grow the business to bring honor to his brother’s memory.

Today, Carpet Tech is still building lasting relationships with our current customers and is gratefully accepting referrals for new ones. With offices located in Lubbock, Amarillo, Midland, Odessa, Collin County, and Clovis, Carpet Tech is able to serve the South Plains, Panhandle, North Texas, and Eastern New Mexico regions with the best, most professional cleaning and restoration services available.

Community Involvement

To show our appreciation for everyone that supports us and makes our communities what they are, we are proud to volunteer our time, skills, and creative insights to help those in need. Organizations that we have supported in the past include The Alstrom Angels, The Boys and Girls Club of Collin County, United Way, Toys for Tots, and the U Can Share Food Drive.

Whether it’s helping out in simple ways or supporting larger community challenges, Carpet Tech strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and in the communities where we live and work.
